What is so special about Black Friday?

Black Friday originated in the United States, in the 1950s. The term is used to describe the chaos that comes with Black Friday. Traditional Black Friday falls on the first Friday after Thanksgiving. Since it falls around one month before the Holidays, it also kicks off the Christmas shopping season with different discounts and special offers from retailers for the consumers to save money. 

In Europe Black Friday started to be a thing around 2014. Now it's a globally famous sales period with a lot of different offers and discounts. The sale is both online and in physical stores with deals, discounts and promotions in all categories like fashion, home interior and electronics. During the Black Friday sales period, it's a good opportunity to save money on Christmas gifts. 

What date is Black Friday sales?

Black Friday falls during the last week of November, between November 23 and 29, with Black Friday on Friday, November 29. It always falls during the last week of November every year. During the week there will be different discounts, deals and offers. 

Some retailers have pre–Black Friday offers throughout November; one example is Singles day that falls on November 11th, and one other example is pre access to the big sale week. After Black Friday, a lot of retailers have Cyber Monday to end the sales period. 

Is Black Friday sale only 1 day?

A traditional Black Friday sale used to last for one day, on Friday after Thanksgiving in America. It was known for high discounts and all the stores opened earlier. Nowdays, Black Friday deals last for at least a week, including Cyber Monday, December 1st. Usually Black Friday week starts before with discounts, deals and special offers on Singles Day November 11th and then continues to Black Friday week. This sales period is important for customers since the Holiday shopping for gifts begins. 

Best Black Friday deals?

During the week of Black Friday there will be a lot of deals. However, the deals depend on what the retailer decides. Some retailers will have discounts with 20% off everything and others will have offers of up to 70% off selected items or on the whole site. The deals are both online and in physical stores in categories like electronics, fashion, accessories, home interior and beauty. Consumers should plan their shopping ahead, make a shopping list and note the prices before Black Friday since there will be a lot of deals. Sometimes companies raise prices before sales and then discount the items to sell at the old new price. Therefore, it could be good for consumers to keep an eye on pricing, so you save money and find good offers.
