High summer 2019

“The Pre-Fall collection is about getting out of the city, finding that clearness of mind that comes when you’re close to nature. In Sweden we crave that; I go a bit crazy if I spend too long in my urban life. We wanted to bring an outdoorsy feel to clothes in the city. So, there are sandals over hiking socks, a pretty dress worn with a chunky knit. In the tailoring we’ve done some suits with shorts instead of skirts – they’re kind of attractive and awkward at the same time.”

– Christoffer Lundman, Creative Director

With High Summer, his fourth collection for Tiger of Sweden, Creative Director Christoffer Lundman considers how nature loving Sweden’s outdoorsiness might ripple into a woman’s city wardrobe. Most Swedes have access to cabins and will spend weekends in a country bolthole. For Christoffer, the idea was to bring the freedom of the great outdoors into a woman’s urban life. A safari dress in pretty green silk will be perfect with sandals in summer or worn with tights and boots as the cold weather blusters in. Accessories run with the outdoors theme – clompy Chelsea boots and hiking-inspired sandals, both worn with thick-ribbed socks. Tiger of Sweden continues to explore modern tailoring for women – tailored pieces that feel right in the many environments women find themselves working in today. The silhouette of jackets is lean and sharp, teamed with slim cigarette trousers.
In keeping with the season’s outdoorsy mood, business-shorts-suits have a safari-in-the-office feel. Shirting stripes are transposed on to pretty ruffled prairie dresses. The label celebrates its heritage with tiger-patterned pumps with high stiletto heels and pointy toes. The new Tiger of Sweden logo also adorns a leather clutch and canvas tote – the brand has recently resurrected its original tiger, the first ever drawn in the 1920s.

The collection is shot against a backdrop of iconic furniture design from Jacksons, the gallery in Stockholm that is home to one of the world’s finest collections of twentieth century Scandinavian design.
