"In Sweden we live so much outdoors. Moving back to Stockholm
after 15 years in London made me realise how much I’d missed
the closeness nature. I find myself more and more escaping the
city, spending weekends at a cabin owned by some friends.
What we wanted for High Summer was to bring the outdoors into
men’s urban wardrobes – that sense of comfort and practicality."
– Christoffer Lundman, Creative Director
With his fourth collection for Tiger of Sweden, Creative Director
Christoffer Lundman explores the boundaries of modern
tailoring and outdoor wear. In a salute to Sweden’s love of
nature, he adds outdoorsy touches to classic tailoring. Take a
lightweight field jacket in khaki cotton, which is
both refined enough for the office and packed with functional
components, such as flat pockets. The new Tiger of Sweden
logo roars across ties and scarves; the brand recently
resurrected its original tiger, the first ever illustrated for the
company in the 1920s, after rediscovering it in the archives.
In our High Summer 2019 collection, the key to tailoring is practicality
– pieces that are a little more versatile, for when you might
just need to add an extra layer against the cold. The collection
includes crease-resistant, packable woollen suits and fold-away
nylon blazers. Padded gilets and quilted jackets add insulation
on cooler days.
The collection is shot against a backdrop of iconic furniture design from Jacksons, the gallery in Stockholm that is home to one of the world’s finest collections of twentieth century Scandinavian design.
