For the spring season 2009, Tiger of Sweden launches a jacket made of The Wave, a Loro Piana fabric that is lighter and thinner than any material ever used for tailoring a jacket.

For softness and durability, The Wave is made from the very thinnest merino wool, combined with silk that adds stability and improves durability. This mixture of fabrics, and a completely new technology for twining the materials, enables extremely thin and flexible garments. The Tiger of Sweden jacket made of The Wave can for example be folded several times and put into your suitcase and come out of there without a crease.

Over the years, Tiger of Sweden has established excellent relations with the top Italian materials suppliers. This has enabled the use of the very best and most innovative materials. The time has now come to introduce The Wave from Loro Piana. Loro Piana is the world’s largest supplier of Kashmir wool. Throughout six generations, it has supplied the major fashion houses with the best fabrics.

From the very beginning in 1903, Tiger of Sweden has focused on good craftsmanship and careful selection of materials, and has always upheld its heritage and tailoring traditions. Without compromising its core values, the company made a repositioning in the early nineties, enhancing its focus on fashion by taking the suit from the bank to the street, and establishing a profile that has since been a trendsetter and a brand name closely associated with Swedish fashion.

Tailored from The Wave, the jacket is a natural step in this development, and it is in line with the Tiger of Sweden ambition to combine the classic tailoring craftsmanship with innovative solutions and materials.

The Wave jacket from Tiger of Sweden will be available in retail stores from February 2009.

Starting with next spring collection, talented freelance designer Anna Werner will be designing both our men’s and women’s shoe lines. A sneak peak is given of Anna´s work with a pair of boots (featured in the picture above) that will come this fall.

They are a part of a collection of handcrafted Italian made shoes, made solely in the finest of calfskin. The leather is also galvanized in eco friendly vegetable oil. They will be available in the colours of black and brown.

I´m very happy to announce that Tiger of Sweden is releasing a new underwear line for women.
The main inspiration for the collection has been Paris. More specifically, the left bank
arrondissements with their rich history of intellectuals, academics, artists and filmmakers.
Ranging from romantic pieces with frills to more classic cut styles, the collection hits the stores August 1st. So keep your eyes open.

Now that we are heading for summer we are releasing a mini collection,
from the Women’s Label. The collection consists of lighter summer garments,
such as lovely dresses and chinos. We shot the lookbook last Wednesday,
and below you can find some of the highlights.

The collection should be available in stores at the end of this week.
